If you browse the #biblejournaling hashtag on Instagram, you’ll see the variety of ways to illustrate your faith. It can also be both inspiring and intimidating. Do you doodle, write a phrase, add watercolor, or attempt hand lettering? If the thought of writing in your bible or journal has stopped you from embracing this creative outlet, this blog post is for you.
Bible journaling is a way to meditate on His word while being your creative self. Just because you like to get messy or play with inks doesn’t mean you also are confident with your lettering. That’s where alpha stamps come to the rescue. This simple tool can free you from any fear and let you dive into the art you’re meant to create.
For today’s entry, I couldn’t resist spelling out the words, “Fear not.” I reached for Angelica’s Solid Alphas as well as Angelica’s Outlined Alphas. The sets were meant to be used together or independently, giving you three different styles of letters. Mix and match the styles and ink colors. Using alpha stamps doesn’t need to be boring, and it’s certainly not “cheating.”
To dress up the stamped lettering, I added a few shapes from the He Is Good set — another stamp set perfect for helping you illustrate your faith.
Now it’s your turn. Search your stash or head to our shop for stamps to use in your bible or journal. We’d love to see what you create. To share, use the #craftedinjoy hashtag.
