Once again I find myself stamping in my bible. This time it was while meditating on Psalm 136. Over and over the phrase “His love endures forever” is repeated. I always take note of repetition – it’s the Word calling out to us, almost screaming for us to recognize, learn, and even sometimes change.
I started by stamping the sentiment above in blue ink from our He Is Good set. Next, I wrote out all the reasons this Psalm tells us why God is good. At the time I was reading and meditating on Psalm 136, my husband and I were dealing with our premie, colicky baby. We love him, but friends, it can be exhausting. We were being pulled in so many directions. Nothing was going quite right. We felt… off. It was a miserable, lonely place. Yet here the author was telling me, LOOK. Look at all of these things. Look at who God is, and look at where He is.
The one who does great wonders, who made great lights, who has a mighty and outstretched hand, who brought Israel through the midst of The Red Sea, who led his people through the wilderness. That same God is standing before you and reaching out. Because His love endures forever.
That same God is standing before you and reaching out. Because His love endures forever.
I made sure to add a bookmark to this page. We surely will need a reminder from time to time during this season of life. Are you in a tough place? Does it feel like you’re alone, struggling, or lost? I encourage you to read Psalm 136 and find yourself among the pages. You’ll also find a God that’s able to do marvelous things, who is right there with you, and whos love endures forever.
