It’s time to get honest. Motherhood hasn’t come easy for me. I have a premie that sleeps 45 minutes to 2 hours at a time both day and night. He refuses to be set down. It’s like he knows what arms are made for – Holding him. Calming methods that worked yesterday or even a few hours ago don’t work now. I can’t remember the last time I made dinner for my husband, and I’m running out of dry shampoo. On top of that, I have a longing to create amazing content for our Crafted In Joy followers.
I wanted this project to be easy to both create and give away. Post-It Notes became the answer. I plan to keep a stack of pre-stamped and written notes in my diaper bag. They can be attached effortlessly to changing tables and diaper aisles. My goal was to brighten someone’s day. It could be the experienced momma that has it all together, the dad stopping on his way home from work, or that gal who hasn’t showered in three days and has spit up on her shirt (That’s me, y’all).
You can do this project at home and joy bomb the moms and dads of your area! First you’ll need to gather together:
- Post It Notes
- Black Ink
- Crafted In Joy Stamps (Coming Nov 1st)
Stamp each note, add an encouraging sentiment, and call it done! I found it easiest to create them in batches by laying several notes in front of me. I stamped each, added a saying to each, and then stacked them back into a pile.
Not sure what to write? I brainstormed words I would love to hear during those “alone” moments. Here are a few to get you started:
- You are doing a great job.
- Don’t worry about the mess.
- You’re an awesome mom.
- This too shall pass.
- You are enough.
After creating these beauties, I couldn’t wait to put them to use. I started by hanging a few in hidden spots for my husband who had taken over baby duty for the afternoon. He eventually found one on the formula container, the diaper pail, and the wipes container. I could hear the appreciation and smile come through in his text of thanks. That’s the joy I wish to spread with this project.
What phrases would you add to the list? We’d love to hear your thoughts and see where you joy bomb others. Add the #craftedinjoy or #joybombs hashtag to your posts to join in.
